Grunge at India Art Summit

When we were on our way for the Indian Art Summit, thought I would be out of place as do not know much about Art. That changed when all of the city population, from 10 year old to 70 year old, was present there to have their ‘art’ experience. It is great to know that people are making an effort for something other than cricket or Bollywood. The summit was nicely organised and not too frou frou like regular art exhibitions are. Was fortunate to see some great art and (shock!) click some bad photos.
JOGEN CHOWDHURY – one of India’s greatest contemporary artist.

no glory without some SUBODH GUPTA

FENDI’s Peekaboo bag has to be the next big genius collection by Slivia Fendi after the Baguette. Introduced in the SS09 collection of FENDI, the bag gets the name from its opening which is supposed to hang open when you carry it on your arm so that the inside can be seen which accidentally happens to have a luxurious lining. Some bags have the inside lining of a more expensive material than the outside to make it seem apt as subtle luxury during the time where everyone is questioning the need for luxury in fashion.

Shanghai Style

No right to pass judgement on street fashion of Shanghai, but I was fortunate enough to witness some inneresting people in this vacation. So taking advantage of that, posting a few images of the pretty young things.

Surprise #4 : Manish Arora in Shanghai

I saw Manish Arora a few many times I should have in a communist country.

Manish Arora for Swatch watch featured in ‘Little Things’ magazine.

Manish Arora Swatch watches display at ‘Super Brand’ mall Swatch store.

Cover shoot of ‘Surface’ magazine. Could not read the credits(Chinese) but the top looks a lot like his SS09 collection. At the huge luxury mall called ‘Plaza 66’ [they have 3 Fendi stores alone!], could not believe one of the boutiques [Zuma] had put only manish arora garments on the window mannequins! all 3 of them. Of course photography was not allowed, therefore could only get the above image from my E71.

Surprise #3: You go to jail bad boy

Chinese government banning Youtube, Facebook and blogs from internet.
